White House promises to slap sanctions on Moscow in few weeks
WASHINGTON, Mar 1 (PRIME) -- The U.S. can introduce new sanctions against Moscow in a few weeks, not months, spokeswoman for the White House Jen Psaki told reporters on February 27.
The official said that the Russian issue comprises several components -- hacker attacks, the U.S. elections meddling, and alleged payments for the heads of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. The U.S. presidential administration continues analysis of all the aspects, she said.
News portal Axios reported that representatives of the U.S. State Department deny negotiations with Germany on an unofficial deal that would allow Russia to finish gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 construction. The officials said that there was an exchange of opinions with Germany on the matter but not negotiations.
